In today’s world, Christian organizations often seem to be at odds, seemingly competing for an elusive constituency and scrambling for any competitive advantage. In such a world, imagine more than a dozen ministries pooling their resources and joining forces in a single shared complex. That unexpected scenario is unfolding today, on a nine-acre swath of grassy land near two major freeways in the booming Dallas suburb of Plano.

The Hope Center is a new nonprofit center that will eventually be the home of a number of leading evangelical ministries—including Hope For The Heart and its media services wing, Hope International Media (Hope IM). Most of the high-profile evangelical tenants were already based in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, and several others will be relocating to the area to be a part of the Hope Center. Hope For The Heart founder June Hunt, who chairs the board of the Hope Center Foundation, has long envisioned a multi-tenant campus where multiple ministries could “join together under one roof, developing better synergy, greater stewardship, and wider global outreach among these biblically-based ministries.” Scheduled to open in the fall of 2009, the Hope Center will feature a 185,000 square foot mountain lodge-style structure surrounded by acres of lush landscaping, walking paths and a prayer garden.
Broadcast and Media
At the core of the Hope Center - in addition to such shared amenities as a bookstore, a call center and conference rooms - will be a remarkable Broadcast Complex. With no less than six studios - ranging from sophisticated audio and video recording, editing, and mixing facilities to a simple, radio-style production room - the Hope Center’s Broadcast Complex will be available to serve the widely varied needs of its tenant ministries.

Under the direction of veteran Christian radio executive Burt Perrault and Emmy Award-winning producer David Boothe, the Broadcast Complex will provide resident ministries with a wide range of alternatives. Working with Hope IM will give each ministry professional counsel, direction and assistance in the concept and creation of program and broadcast features. Hope International Media will also offer full media planning and placement services to resident tenants, as well as continue to handle media planning and management for Hope For The Heart and Hope In The Night.
“All broadcast and media services are made available under the same nonprofit stewardship model that characterizes every aspect of [the] Hope Center’s operation,” says Hope Center founder, June Hunt. “We’re building a Kingdom - and it’s not our own!” |
